1. Our carpet is only in the bedrooms and up the stairs. Is that even worth booking a cleaning for?

   Yes, and it's the most common layout we see in Agoura Hills. Most of these 1970s–1990s tract homes have tile or wood downstairs and wall-to-wall only in the bedrooms and on the stairs, so the carpet you do have takes concentrated traffic. Stairs are usually the worst area in the house because every trip up carries in whatever came through the front door. There's no requirement to have a whole floor of carpet to make a visit worthwhile.

2. We back onto open space and walk the trails constantly. What does that do to the carpet?

That grit is sharp and it settles down into the pile rather than sitting on top, so vacuuming pulls some of it but leaves a layer at the base of the fibers that grinds the yarn every time someone walks on it. It also dulls the color long before the carpet is actually worn out. Foxtails are the other one. They work into the pile and into pet paws. If your yard opens onto the hillside or you're near equestrian parcels, expect soil in the carpet to be more mineral and abrasive than in a house further from open space, and plan on cleaning more often than the label on the carpet suggests.

3. How soon can someone get out here?

   Usually within a few days for a standard bedrooms-and-stairs job. We schedule by area, so Agoura Hills, Oak Park, and Calabasas tend to fall on the same days, which helps. If it's a spill, a pet accident, or something that will set if it sits, tell us when you call and we'll work you into the soonest opening rather than the next routine slot. Same-day is sometimes possible, more often earlier in the week than on a Friday.
